The Institute's major educational goal is to train UW-Madison students in core aspects of aging, including basic biological processes, health, psychological and social changes linked with life course development, and the demographic, economic, social, and political contexts in which aging occurs. This goal is facilitated by two multidisciplinary programs – the Ph.D. Distributed Minor with a Focus on Aging and the Specialist in Gerontology certificates.
