2023 New Investigator Award Winners:
Awards are given to UW–Madison students or advanced trainees to recognize outstanding achievement in aging or life course studies. Winners receive a $500 award and their research is showcased in the event’s Poster Session. This year’s winners were:
Clinical/Applied Research Award: Helen Omuya
Poster Title: A systematic review of RCTs outcomes of deprescribing in older adults with polypharmacy
Psychosocial Research Award: Yue Qin
Poster Title: Labor union membership and the educational gradient in later-life health: Results from the Wisconsin Longitudinal Study
Biological/Biomedical Research Award: Michelle Sonsalla
Poster Title: Acarbose ameliorates western diet-induced metabolic and cognitive impairments in the 3xTg mouse model of Alzheimer’s disease
